Cara Luft

Last Friday saw the Shirley Red Lion Folk Club host our first international guest – Cara Luft, founder member of the Wailing Jennies, award winner, on her third album, her fifth UK tour and all the way from Canada. Cara put on a top notch performance that was wonderfully received – great songs, terrific playing and a real entertainer, drawing regularly on a veritable fund of anecdote.  Cara was supported by fine performances from club regulars Simeon and Simon and Paul, who was accompanied by Andy and Laura for a hauntingly evocative rendition of the Boat Builders. 

Our next meeting is on 6th July when, after the excitement of InBetweenSeas and Cara Luft, we will be returning to our normal performer’s night format with two song spots for everyone who feels the urge. Do come along if you can.
