Will Coverdale Feature Night – 7th October 2011

In what is fast becoming the norm for the Shirley Red Lion Folk Club, last Friday saw a packed room, a wonderful and highly congenial atmosphere and a string of high quality performances.

Particular thanks to Will Coverdale who produced an urgent, driving, compelling set that ended with a dark and truly mesmerising performance of the Dylan classic Maggies Farm. Nice one Will.

It was great to welcome Matt back after a goodly time away – don’t leave it so long next time Matt, it was a great set. Also some fine work from Diane and Nick, both debuting at the Club. But truth to tell, ’twas one of those nights when so many performers were at the top of their game so in addition to those already mentioned, many thanks to Sam, Barry, Nigel, Sue, Pete, Simeon, Martyn, Tommy and John. Great that so many were there to enjoy them. Next club night 21 October.
