John Richards at the Shirley Red Lion

Last Friday was another great night, run by Laura and hosted by Geoff. We saw two great support slots from Simon Coverdale and Carrick and a warm and honest double set from John Richards and his band. I really liked the ambience they created and there was a fabulous collection of songs and stories. It was a pleasure to be in the audience.

I also thought the split set was a great improvement on the normal long single set format. It held my interest and attention for the whole evening. It would be interesting to see what others thought to the variation.

Next club is Friday 3rd May when it will be a Performer’s Night.
