Late August Update

News update for late August

It was great to see so many people at the club on 19th August. We all enjoyed lots of chorus singing and a particular highlight was the much anticipated debut performances of Tess and Martin who both took a part in a highly theatrical performance of Widecombe Fair! The singing career of these two can only go from strength to strength now.

On Friday this week (2nd September) we bring our summer season to a close with a performer’s night including a feature spot from Nicole Perrot Hughes. Do come along if you can.

Looking further ahead, the autumn programme is pretty much complete and on the web site so do have a look. Highlights include Bring Some Folk night on 16th September which will feature a few exciting surprises, a feature spot from Will Coverdale on 7th October and a charity concert on 18th November. The concert will be at the Dovehouse theatre and should be a great night. More details to follow soon! I’ve also confirmed our next guests – Pilgrim’s Way will be at the club on 6th January next year. They are an excellent three piece band who blew us away at Warwick Folk Festival last month. All in all there are lots of dates for your diaries!

Well the summer is grinding towards it’s end and the schools will soon be back so the weather is bound to get much better and lift all of our spirits ready to come to the club and sing! I hope to see you there soon.
