Super Night for the Super Friends

We enjoyed yet another excellent night of entertainment and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised a magnificent £150 for the Super Friends. That money will now be put to very good use in benefitting local children with learning difficulties.

Once again we welcomed new members. A big welcome to Charles who promised to dust off his guitar for a future performance and to Pete who entertained us with two lovely songs and an engaging stage presence. Welcome also to Marten who gave a fine demonstration of the art of using a spoken voice as a musical instrument in his performance of his own poems. It was also good to hear Jacqui charm us with her singing and the excellent Matt who brought a touch of class to the procedings all the way from Exeter!

But the biggest accolade of the night must go to Geoff who did a magnificent job as MC for the evening. What a great line about the Lazarus of the death spot – a real touch of genius!!

Thanks to everyone who played, sang, bought raffle tickets a-plenty, sang in the choruses and continued to make our club the very special thing that it has become.
