The Big Christmas Sing was Sung!!
Yes, the Big Christmas Sing was sung and good fun it was too. On a cold, snowy night it was great that so many people turned out and sung with great gusto. Tambourines were tinkled, bohdrans beaten, sleigh bells slain and assorted shaky things were shaken as we belted out such classic songs as Jingle Bells, Rudolph, White Christmas and Silent Night!
Many of the usual suspects entertained us in the first half with the highlight being Dave singing a tender love song to his wife Helen whilst wearing a turkey on his head.
In fact Dave certainly won all the plaudits as the best dressed man in the building.
During the interval the historic final edition of the Great Tea Towels of the World Series was won by a jubilant Barbara who took A Guide to the Scots Language home. After checking the records it was confirmed that the very first tea towel was Scotland but nobody can remember who won it. Anyone want to own up?! The question left on everyone’s lips was “What will replace the tea towels?”. The answer, of course, will be revealed in January!!
After the break the massed ranks assembled and the Sing was sung.
It’s been a great first year for the club … stand by for the next one. Happy Christmas!!
